Increased Bed Flexibility in 9 Months
Aurora Medical Center Grafton | Observation Unit
Needing to address immediate capacity issues and create additional flexibility to treat same-day surgery patients, Advocate Aurora Health selected HGA and Boldt's STAAT MOD, a fully modular prefabricated solution to quickly add high-quality patient beds to the Grafton campus.
The design of the 16-bed observation unit uses evidence-based design critical to produce quality features found in traditional patient units, including work efficacy, deployment, visibility, and well-being to support clinical best practices. The fabrication of the modules was completed in Boldt’s prefabrication facility in fewer than five weeks, then transported to the site, installed on the foundations and connected to the main hospital.
In addition to patient beds, the unit has two staff support areas, patient bathrooms, staff toilet rooms, soiled and clean utility, equipment storage, medication room, nourishment alcove, P-Tube station, AHU mechanical yard and I.T., and water and electrical rooms.
Prefabricated Modular Construction
Pre-fabrication is revolutionizing the way we do construction. This process provides an exceptional product, safer working conditions, and faster speed-to-market for projects like Advocate Aurora Health’s recent expansion at Aurora Medical Center.
